It's not meant to be a struggle uphill...
Last evening I gave myself a gift.
The gift of total relaxation in a bathtub filled with warm water, epsom salts, the scent of roses, and a handful of my favorite crystals.
I had the whole house to myself.
It was quiet.
I had the gift of not being interrupted for a full 40 minutes.
If you’re an introverted mom, virtual schooling her children, bouncing between cooking, cleaning, teaching, and problem solving all day, you know that I struck gold!
I turned on one of my favorite Bjork albums - Vespertine - and what followed was something out of those woo woo books.
The universe spoke to me.
God spoke to me through Bjork’s lyrics.
Hey, I like my dose of woo balanced with some healthy skepticism, but this was completely unexpected.
I’ve been listening to this album since it first came out almost 20 years ago. And only now, do the lyrics make sense to me!
As I lay in the warm bath, her words reminded me that following my soul’s purpose doesn’t have to be a struggle at all.
She whispered, “surrender sweetly”, “unfold in a generous way”, “undo” and “it’s not meant to be a struggle uphill”.
This week has been a bit of a struggle, I’ve been working on surrendering and letting go of all the ideas I thought came with starting a business.
The type of perfectionism that can choke creativity and doing.
My meditation earlier this week left me with the feeling that I could let go of all that didn’t serve me, and focus on the heart of what I do - teach.
So listening to Bjork’s lyrics last night, was a DM from the universe to my soul. And it couldn't have come at a better time.
May you hear your message and follow your purpose.
